The reds rallies troops for Nov 19

Red shirts leader Jamal Md Yunos chaired a meeting to forge an alliance between 60 Malay groups to oppose the Bersih 5 rally on Nov 19.

Jamal said 300,000 people have pledged to show up and that they will not stop even if they were to "bathe in blood".

Meanwhile, the police have confirmed receiving a notice from the red shirts on their intention to rally on Nov 19.

Bersih also submitted their notice to the police yesterday, specifically stating that they intend to gather near Dataran Merdeka.

Latest comments from the IGP, who called Bersih attention seekers, seem to indicate that the police are not sympathetic to their cause.

Coming soon: Made-in-China naval ships

Malaysia appears set to acquire Littoral Mission Ships, a type of fast patrol vehicle usually used for coastal security, from China.

According to Reuters, the deal will be inked when a large Malaysian delegation led by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak arrives in China next week.

Malaysia's foreign policy appears to be leaning towards China of late amidst continuing strains on ties with the US.

The Mahathirs rubbish TN50
