Learn about unity from Prophet Muhammad, says Perlis Raja Muda

Muslims should learn from Prophet Muhammad who united the Muslims and non-Muslims via the signing of the Madinah Charter.

The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said the agreement was important in Islamic history of Islam as it ended the feud between the Aus and Khazraj tribes.

"The agreement shows that Islam places unity high in people's lives," he said before performing 'zohor' prayers at Manila Golden Mosque and Cultural Center, in Manila today.

Upon arrival, he was greeted by Malaysia's ambassador to the Philippines Razlan Abdul Rashid and chief administor of the mosque, Mohd Ersad 'Bebot' Malli and the imam, Haron Angnie.

After 'zohor' prayers, the Raja Muda presented a RM2,000 donation to Ersad, copies of the Quran and some books.

Manila Golden Mosque was built with the contributions of former Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi and the Philippines government in 1970. It can accommodate some 500 people.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin is leading a Public University Reserve Officers Training Unit delegation on a three-day visit to Manila.
