Parti Warisan Sabah president Mohd Shafie Apdal will be questioned by police tomorrow over his speech in the Dewan Rakyat, which allegedly breached the Official Secrets Act.

He is scheduled to be questioned by police at the Bukit Aman police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur at 10am tomorrow, his aide told Malaysiakini.

The former rural and regional development minister is the third to be called up over the matter, after former finance minister II Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah and ex-deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

The trio are under probe after Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia said the speeches they made in the House related to 1MDB breached the oath of secrecy they took as cabinet ministers.

Last week, Shafie, who was sacked from cabinet in July 2015, questioned how Pandikar could know if any of the speeches breached the OSA, since he is not privy to cabinet discussions.

The speaker however, sidestepped the matter by saying the court should decide if parliamentary immunity extends to matters under the OSA.

Police action has also prompted veteran DAP lawmaker Lim Kit Siang to call a meeting between MPs, former MPs, ministers and the speaker over parliamentary immunity, this Tuesday.

The three ex-ministers have agreed to attend, while former prime minister and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad may join, Lim said.
