Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Gelang Patah) and Azeez Abdul Rahim (BN-Baling) traded barbs after the DAP veteran wanted Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Dzulkifli Ahmad summoned to the Parliament Rights and Privileges Committee.

The Gelang Patah MP said Dzulkifli should be summoned so that he could name the crooked lawmakers he had referred to in a poetic speech yesterday.

"Summon him, so he can name (them). Are the ministers corrupt? Is Malaysia Official 1 (MO1) corrupt?" he asked.

MO1 is an unnamed Malaysian leader whom the US Department Of Justice accused of receiving US$731 million in misappropriated 1MDB funds.

MO1 has been identified by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan as Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Najib has denied misusing public funds, and said such allegations were part of a plot to topple him.

Azeez was quick to point out to Kit Siang that his son, Guan Eng (DAP-Bagan) is also implicated in corruption.

Kit Siang retorted by calling the Baling MP corrupt, to which the Umno lawmaker replied that the DAP supremo was a "bapak penyamun (robber's father)".

The brief commotion ended with Deputy House Speaker Ismail Mohamad Said telling Kit Siang to file a motion so that it can be debated in the Dewan Rakyat.

Guan Eng, who is also Penang chief minister, has been charged with two counts of corruption, related to the purchase of his bungalow, allegedly below market price.

Dzulkefli yesterday reminded politicians and community leaders not to hoodwink the people with fairy tales while at the same time engaging in corruption.
