Zuraida hits out at Jamal, likens him to Pinocchio
PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamarudin has hit out at Umno Sungai Besar division chief Jamal Yunos for claiming that one of her supporters had punched him during a scuffle at Ampang Point yesterday.
"If anyone remembered the story of Pinocchio, then he or she will know why Jamal’s nose bled.
"Jamal’s nose was growing longer and longer so he must have bumped into something hard and then started bleeding," Zuraida said in a statement.
"As a man, he should just stop bullying others and then blame it on women. How much more ridiculous can Jamal get?
"First, Jamal bullies Maria Chin Abdullah and Ambiga Sreenevasan. Now he is bullying Wanita Keadilan. Why is he picking on women? Come join us in Wanita, lah!" the Ampang MP added.
Jamal yesterday led his team of red-shirts to trail Zuraida's events around Ampang, organised in support of the Nov 19 Bersih 5 rally.
At the Ampang Point mall, a scuffle ensued during which a blow allegedly landed on Jamal's face and scored him a bloody nose.
During the scuffle, Jamal could be heard shouting "Polis tumbuk saya (the police punched me)" but he later told reporters that "one of Zuraida's boys" had hit him.
In his police report lodged at the Ampang police station, Jamal once again claimed that he was punched and attacked by someone wearing a Bersih T-shirt.
However, Zuraida reminded Jamal that lodging a false report is a criminal offence.
"I am sure the police will charge Jamal for doing so. The evidence is there for all to see – he lodged a false report, and was even captured on video for telling lies.
"I will, based on these evidence, take legal action against him," she said.
Zuraida had, in an immediate reaction yesterday, also said that she had left the mall, together with her supporters, when the scuffle ensued.
Separately, lawyer Haniff Khatri Abdulla cited Section 177 and Section 203 of the Penal Code, for the offence of giving false information and lodging a false police report.
"Therefore if the entire footage in the video is right, accurate and not manipulated, if Jamal, or any other party provided false information or lodged a police report over the incident at Ampang Point, then Jamal or any other party should be investigated and charged under the two sections," he said.
