A former chief executive officer of a government-linked company (GLC) suspected of being involved in alleged corruption and misappropriation of projects worth RM50 million will be arrested soon.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission deputy chief commissioner (Operation) Azam Baki said the suspect, in his 50s, would be detained to facilitate further investigations into the case.

"He will probably be arrested in a day or two," he told Bernama when contacted in Kuala Lumpur today.

Media today reported that the suspect was believed to have awarded millions of ringgit worth of contracts to multiple companies with interests.

It is learnt that the activities occurred during his five-year tenure as the CEO of the company since 2010.
