MACC has arrested a government-linked company director for suspicion of abuse of power and corruption.

The anti-graft body also seized RM39.3 million from the suspect's and his family members' bank accounts,

The funds are believed to be from kickbacks received for approving about RM50 million worth of contracts while serving as a chief executive officer of a GLC last year, it is learnt.

The 50-year-old was arrested at his home in Shah Alam at about 12.30pm today and taken to the Putrajaya office for investigation.

An MACC source said the suspect is believed to have been on the take since 2010, before he resigned from the CEO post.

He was after that appointed as director of another GLC, the source said.

He is expected to be remanded tomorrow for further investigation.

MACC deputy commissioner (operations) Azam Baki confirmed the arrest but declined to elaborate.
