Perkasa is 'anti-DAP', not 'anti-Chinese'
Malay rights pressure group Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali stressed that the movement does not view all Chinese as enemies, as it only opposes the DAP over the party's belligerant attitude.
"I must stress here, (we are) anti-DAP, not anti-Chinese. I oppose DAP not because the party is led by Chinese, I oppose them because of their chauvinist principles and ways," he said.

"I hope Malaysia understand this clearly. I respect those of Chinese descent because they are legal residents of Malaysia, because they possess rights defined in the federal constitution.
"I was never anti-Chinese," said Ibrahim while delivering the policy speech for Perkasa seventh annual general meeting in Kuala Lumpur today.
The former Pasir Mas parliamentarian said he even have Chinese business partners.
"For years, my business partner was a Chinese. As such the Chinese must realise that the DAP's politicking is a barrier to achieving national unity," he said.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim said among other reason that Perkasa rejected DAP was because they were attempting to block legal admendments to strengthen the Syariah courts.
He said that DAP's rejection created the impression as if the party has the right to dictate the course of Muslim affairs in the country.
"But when there are Chinese who questioned the Muslim call to prayer from mosque and suraus, as Muslims lodge police reports about the matter, the DAP and those of their ilk, remain silent," he said.
