Five more Pakatan Harapan leaders were summoned by the police today for questioning on the Bersih 5 rally.

The are Harapan secretariat chief Saifuddin Abdullah, Penanti assemblyperson Dr Norlela Ariffin, Sekinchan assemblyperson Ng Suee Lim, Sri Andalas assemblyperson Dr Xavier Jayakumar and Selangor PKR Youth chief Afzainizam Rahman.

All five had their statements recorded at the Travers police station in Kuala Lumpur this morning.

According to lawyer Saiful Izham Ramli, the four are being investigated under the Sedition Act 1948 and the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

"There are others on their list. They can be called in any time," Saiful Izham said.

Saifuddin said all four were asked about the Bersih 5 and the purpose of the rally.

"But all of us chose to remain silent," he said.

Saifuddin said all four were being probed under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act and Section 4 (2) (b) of Peaceful Assembly Act.

Section 4(2)(b) deals with organising and participating in an assembly held at any prohibited place and within 50 metres from the limit of the prohibited place.

Thus far, other Harapan lawmakers that were previously arrested in connection to the Bersih 5 rally are Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, Batu MP Tian Chua, Pasir Pinji state assemblyperson Howard Lee and Seremban MP Anthony Loke.
