Parti Amanah Negara vice-president Mujahid Yusof Rawa only has harsh words for the Umno AGM that concluded in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, saying he bids the party goodbye as it can no longer unite Malaysians.

“Najib failed to convince Umno, which is too racist to understand the need to be more progressive and inclusive. It is unfortunate that Najib bowed to the pressures of the racist Umno members and failed to uphold the aspirations of Bangsa Malaysia,” Mujahid said.

“He merely became the saviour of the Umno Malay racists,” he told Malaysiakini.

Contrary to Mujahid's view, Umno president and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said the AGM was his “best ever” in his 40 years in politics.
