PAS has outlined a condition to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) for the two parties to establish political ties, its secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said.

If Bersatu becomes a member of Pakatan Harapan at the opposition bloc's meeting on Dec 13, then there is a big possibility that PAS would not have ties with Bersatu, similar to its stand with DAP and Parti Amanah Negara, Takiyuddin said.

"PAS and Bersatu leaders have met and exchanged views.

"We can be together with them if they abide by our conditions, which among others is that we will have no relationship whatsover with Amanah and DAP," he is quoted as saying by Sinar Harian today.

Takiyuddin said it is Bersatu's right to choose to be with Harapan, and PAS cannot dispute this.

However, he indicated that there might still be room for cooperation, and PAS would look into this matter.

"Perhaps there are certain forms (of cooperation) which we can consider, such as how in the past, PAS had ties with (the defunct) Semangat 46, but not with DAP.

"Semangat 46 had ties with Gagasan Rakyat which worked with DAP as well. This might happen. But for now, there will be no political ties," he said.

PAS was once a member of the now defunct Pakatan Rakyat coalition which comprised DAP and PKR.

However, the coalition came apart after PAS and DAP crossed swords over the Islamist party's theocratic goals.

Following this, DAP and PKR formed Harapan, together with the PAS splinter party Amanah.
