Two Prison Department officers were detained by the Kelantan Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday for allegedly receiving a bribe of RM3,000 from a former convict.
Kelantan MACC director Moh Samsudin Yusof said the two prison officers, including an inspector, were detained between 7pm and midnight yesterday.
They were alleged to have received the money as an inducement to release some of the prisoners who underwent urine test and tested positive for drugs, he said in a statement today.
He said the two suspects would be held under remand for seven days from today for investigation under Section 17 (a) of the MACC Act 2009.
