YOURSAY | ‘Bolehland is back to the days where a water standpipe installed in the village shall ensure the votes.’

Ibrahim Ali: BN will win GE14 despite people 'rejecting' Najib

Spirit of Malaya: His comments may be stupid but think carefully, this is Malaysia we are talking about. A mere mention about race and religion spiced with sex and some cash could easily sweep aside the Big C - corruption.

Try selling the Mother of All Corruption (1MDB) to the Felda and rural folks. For us RM2.6 billion is lots of money, but for them, they can't comprehend such a value - it doesn't hurt them.

They say it's not their money, it's all government money as ‘taxpayers’ money’ is not part of their dictionary.

The recent two by-elections which were won handsomely by BN was a good indicator. In fact, even the rural Chinese voted for the corrupt regime.

Kingfisher: Ibrahim Ali has obviously struck the nail on the head with his astute observation ("according to studies") that while as much as 90 percent may disapprove the conduct of the present PM, the BN will still prevail in the next GE.

This "rejection" of an incumbent leader as referenced by Ibrahim Ali is a forceful indicator that one may have the power over legislation and even the wherewithal to win elections, but one can also dismally lose the deference due to a leader.

The serious opportunity cost to this unfortunate state of affairs will bear heavily on the BN in future.

Anonymous_1388029052: Well, if the seats are redelineated fairly on the principle of one man, one vote, then the general election results would be different.

Besides their unlimited cash resources and the support of the Election Commission, BN also controls the media, the police and military, the civil servants, etc, so to beat them is certainly not easy.

Shibboleth: "Everybody rejects Najib. But at the same time, they (the analysts) also say BN will not lose. Isn't this strange?”

No. They got people like you who is addicted to ‘dedak’ (animal feed). It will only change when the billions run out.

Awang Top: Like it or not, the voter bases are divided into three groups. The urban group is more critical of the government and has a long-term view.

The rural group, like Felda, fishermen have short-term view and would be happy if they get some handouts.

And the third group is semi-rural group, which do not necessarily support any parties but would be happy if they could get decent jobs with decent salary to beat the high cost of living.

The opposition coalition has not taken the third group seriously and lost.

Anonymous_40f4: Malaysia is in a serious dilemma. We have a corrupt and desperate party and their extremely corrupt and desperate leader who will do anything to win and stay in power.

That puts the country and rakyat in grave danger. Najib and Umno Baru will do anything to win and stay in power because if they lose power, they may all end up in Sungai Buloh for the rest of their lives.

The greedy and selfish majority race and the ignorant and selfish voters@dedak takers, who vote BN/Umno Baru have to decide if they want to send the country to the rubbish dump. Malaysia is now among the most corrupt in the world.

FairMind: What you say will be true if you sit down and do nothing.

It is up to you and every Malaysian who cannot tolerate a corrupt government to go down to the rural areas to convince the Felda settlers, rubber tappers, fishermen and every rural Malay folks to reject this corrupt government.

Dont Just Talk: For Ibrahim Ali’s information, BN did not win the 13th or the coming 14th GE, but instead stole it from Malaysian voters.

In the last GE, 51 percent of popular votes are part of the minority, while 47 percent get to rule the country. This is despite the majority of voters had rejected BN, which is under the leadership of the allegedly corrupt MO1.

Unless gerrymandering is properly addressed and we have free and fair elections, BN will continue to steal the GE.

Fair&Just: Yes, think of nothing except winning the GE by hook and crook.

BN, even if it wins, will soon have a shell country to run when the ringgit is not accepted worldwide and the nation’s debts go unpaid.

China shall step in to secure their investment. Perhaps BN will inherit a country known as another Special Administrative Region of China after Hong Kong and Macau.

Uragt: Religion shall never be the solution. Ask the Syrians.

They are 100 percent Muslim and the country has been around for a long time. The silent conservative Muslims have to been convinced/shown the suffering of the Syrians.

The real solution is to stop the rot before it sets in. Be real, once the cancer spreads, prayers will not help.

Aktan: For once, Ibrahim Ali speaks sense. I don’t dispute the current scenario. It is the voters who are blind, unaware, refuse to be educated and are easily confused that will sway the votes to BN.

Bolehland is back to the days where a water standpipe installed in the village shall ensure all the votes. What has the opposition done to "knock" some senses and put some common sense into these people?

The seats are in the rural areas and with gerrymandering, BN shall be there as long as these idiots live.
