The only flood relief centre in Terengganu that remained open this afternoon has closed.

The centre, which had housed 78 evacuees from 20 families, closed at 3.40pm, said Terengganu Civil Defence Force director Lt Col Che Adam A Rahman.

He said the Terengganu Disaster Operations Room would be on standby from 8.30am to 4.30pm on working days (Sunday to Thursday) only.

"The operations room will operate up to the end of the North-East Monsoon period in March.

"In the event of any flood or other disasters, the operations room will be activated and operate round-the-clock," he said in a statement.
