Former Mengkebang assemblyperson Khaltom Mohamed died at the Kuala Krai Hospital at 3.05pm today due to high blood pressure. She was 74.

Her cousin Adnan Mat Yassin, 55, told Bernama that she was admitted to the hospital at 10am today.

He said the burial was scheduled to be held at the Kuala Krai Islamic Cemetery at 10pm today.

Khaltom was the Temangan assemblyperson for the defunct Semangat 46 party from 1990 to 1995. She later joined BN and won the Mengkebang seat for the 1995-1999 term.
