No job is beneath Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Kadir who this morning joined a dump truck crew to help clean up Ipoh.

"At 6.45am, I surprised Ipoh City Council (MBI) workers and joined the duty to collect and clean up rubbish around the city.

"I share their spirit to keep Ipoh as clean city," he said on Twitter.

The two-time MB also posted a picture of himself dumping trash into a rubbish dump while wearing the orange MBI cleaner uniform and gloves.

Berita Harian also published a picture of gloved Zambry throwing a bag of trash into a dump truck at around dawn, and sweeping up litter later in the day.

The daily reported that the MB also rode in a dump truck with six other staff.

He assisted them in their rounds around Pasar Buntong, Little India and Pasar Besar Ipoh, the daily reported.

"This is an unplanned and unannounced visit to make sure the workers are caught off guard.

"They were surprised but we must do this as part of our efforts to show that we must work together to ensure cleanliness," Zambry reportedly said.

Ipoh mayor Zamri Man was also part of the surprise event, Berita Harian said.
