MACC arrests lawyer who 'tried to bribe DPP'
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a lawyer who allegedly tried to bribe a deputy public prosecutor (DPP) to induce the release of her client who is charged with robbery.
The 54-year-old woman lawyer is alleged to have offered RM1,000 to the DPP at the female toilet of the Shah Alam Court Complex about 3pm yesterday, in exchange for letting her client, who is facing robbery charges, off the hook.

A source said the DPP later reported the matter to MACC and the suspect was picked up at her house in Shah Alam about 9.45pm last night.
The suspect has been remanded for four days starting today to facilitate investigations, the commission said in a statement today.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (Operations) Azam Baki confirmed the arrest and said the suspect is being investigated under Section 17(b) of the MACC Act 2009.
