PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has called on opposition leaders to exhibit humility, and accommodate others.

In view of this, the Selangor menteri besar said he welcomed the move by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) to meet PAS to establish an electoral understanding.

"In PKR, we want to have an inclusive approach as we are willing to accept individuals and any progressive party interested in saving the country.

"Hence, when there is an effort by Bersatu to discuss with PAS, we consider it as a good development," he told reporters when met at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

Azmin said he managed to meet Anwar and the pair had discussed current affairs and preparations for the next general election.

Among others, he added that the jailed former opposition leader had expressed his views on Felda settlers and how to garner their support.

Meanwhile, Anwar, when speaking to reporters in court, said the government must address the problem of unemployment.

The PKR de facto leader said that he is concerned with the number of people laid off by banks.

"All these are mostly professionals, coupled with the reported several thousands more of unemployed youth. The government must do something to help find jobs for these people.

"At the same time, I do not believe that the number of unemployed people as mentioned by the government is at 3.5 percent (of the total workforce)," he added.

Met outside the courtroom, Anwar said it is good Bersatu and PAS are having discussions and added that they should continue (to work on common ground).

The jailed PKR leader said he was not able to have any discussion with former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin as he was prevented from doing so.

"I only managed to shake his hands," he said.

Muhyiddin came to court early with the hope of meeting Anwar.
