Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) said it will contest at least two parliamentary seats - Kota Baru and Kubang Kerian - in Kelantan during the next general elections.

Kelantan Amanah deputy chief Che Ibrahim Mohamad added that the party will contest in not more than 30 state legislative assembly seats with a focus on seats currently held by PAS.

Che Ibrahim said the party will nominate candidates for six parliamentary seats, at most. There are 14 parliamentary seats in Kelantan.

He said Amanah will hold talks with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) on seat distributions.

Bersatu will likely be tasked with contesting in seats won by Umno, said Che Ibrahim.

He said there will likely be no change to seats to be contested by PKR at both parliamentary and state levels.

"For PKR, we will maintain status quo. PKR contested in three parliamentary seats and five state seats during the Pakatan Rakyat era. We won't touch those," said Che Ibrahim.

He added that Kelantan Amanah's preparation level was at "60 percent" in terms of candidate selection.
