Police have detained a fourth suspect in connection with the murder of Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

According to The Star the suspect is believed to have been arrested after a police raid was conducted at a condominium in Jalan Kuchai Lama at around 11pm last night.

Inspector-general of police Khalud Abu Bakar in a press release, named the suspect as Ri-jong Chol, whose date of birth is May 6, 1970.

The statement added that the suspect had a North Korean I-Kad.

Police are on the lookout for three more men in connection with the murder which has caught international attention.

Police arrested the first suspect, who was found with a Vietnamese passport on Wednesday.

The suspect was arrested at the KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2), the same place where Jong-nam died, as she was about to board a flight to Vietnam.

The second suspect, who holds an Indonesian passport, was arrested the next day and her boyfriend was also detained to assist investigations. Both women have since been remanded.

The second suspect, Siti Aisyah, moved to Kuala Lumpur from Indonesia and told friends and family that she had been invited to act in a movie.

A friend told Indonesian portal Detik.com that the movie shoot would take place in North Korea.

Siti Aisyah had reportedly worked as a guest relations officer (GRO) at a spa in Ampang but told folks in Indonesia that she had a job “selling tickets”.

Her mother Benah confirmed that her daughter could speak English and Korean although she did not know that her daughter worked in Malaysia. Benah thought Siti Aisyah sold clothes at a market in Batam.

Last Monday, Jong-nam was at KLIA2 to board a flight to Macau when a woman suddenly covered his face with a cloth laced with what is believed to be poison.

Jong-nam, who had used a passport bearing the name of Kim Chol, sought help at a customer service counter at KLIA2 and was rushed to Putrajaya Hospital, but died on the way.
