An aide to the Selangor Menteri Besar, Muhammad Hilman Idham, has been urged to declare his assets, after rumours emerged of his alleged extraordinary wealth. 

Legal adviser to Gabungan NGO-NGO Selangor, Mohd Imran Tambrin said this, quoting social media allegations on the supposedly wealthy lifestyle of the trusted aide to Selangor MB Azmin Ali.

"PKR is an open and transparent party in all matters, especially on financial and (state) fund management.

"As such, in line with party stand and their spirit of transparency, as a special officer to the MB, he should declare his assets as per existing state regulations," he said after lodging a report against Hilman at the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Shah Alam today.

In an immediate response Hilman told Malaysiakini that he is ready to cooperate with the anti-graft body.

"Let the MACC do its work," he said, though he claimed that Mohd Imran had missed the boat as others had lodged a report over the matter previously. Hilman added the case was closed after he was investigated by the commission.

"Enough with the slander, we have work to do," he said, adding that he will be lodging a police report over the matter soon.

Mohd Imran along with other members of his NGO lodged the report based on social media allegations of Hilman's supposed wealth that went viral on social media recently.

The legal adviser said that the report was lodged to ensure that Hilman was investigated, adding that they handed over a four-paged report and a five-page addendum to the anti-graft body.

Hilman was accused to have owned an RM87,000 watch while his wife allegedly owned an expensive Louis Vuitton handbag.

The group lodged the report following allegations by its chief Jamal Mohd Yunos that certain members of Azmin's staff were living way beyond their means.

Previously the group had lodged a report against Selangor PKR Youth chief Adam Rosly over his supposed ownership of a RM7 million bungalow.

Adam, however, denied the matter, explaining that he bought the bungalow at an auction for only RM1 million and that as a long-time businessperson, he is living well within his means.
