Agrobank is first financial institution to sign graft-free pledge

Agrobank has become the first financial institution to sign the Corruption Free Pledge (CFP), in line with the efforts of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to combat corruption and abuse of power.

The CFP oath-taking and signing ceremony began at 10am, at a hotel in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, in conjunction with the Agrobank Managers Convention 2017, attended by 255 Agrobank staff, the MACC said in a statement yesterday.

The event was led by Agrobank's Chief Services Officer, Mad Yusof Yazid and witnessed by Agrobank chairperson Mohamad Zabidi Zainal and MACC deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil.

Agrobank's main vendors also signed the CPF. Agrobank's chief executive officer Wan Mohd Fadzmi Wan Othman was also present.

Shamshun Baharin said the involvement of Agrobank staff reflects the commitment given to ensure that the institution and the country were free from corruption and abuse of power.
