PAS central committee member Mohamed Fadzil Hassan said he is against a proposed debate between party president Abdul Hadi Awang and Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin on the amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965.

Mohamed Fadzil said as a religious scholar, Mohd Asri should not bring down another religious scholar in a debate.
