Women's exco: Stop blaming gender for own incapabilities
Women have to get rid of negative attitude and to understand their role in the society to enable them to contribute effectively in the country's development.
Pahang Women and Family Development, Communications and Multimedia Committee chairperson Shahaniza Shamsuddin said women should not place themselves at lower-level, but to strive to increase their self-worth and capability whatever fields they ventured in.
"Stop looking backward or blaming the gender for the incapabilities. What is important is women should be confident and have confidence in themselves and their ability," she said.
Shahaniza said this when launching the Women's Week at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Kuantan today.
Meanwhile, UMP vice-chancellor Professor Dr Daing Nasir Ibrahim said no one could deny the important role of a woman.
"Here, women will continue to be given the opportunity to actively develop their potentials for the benefit of their family, society and country's development," he said.
