A man was fined RM1,000, in default two months' jail, by the Magistrate's Court in Kuala Lumpur today for punching his former employer on the face.

Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som handed down the sentence on Hafizi Majid, 30, who pleaded guilty to a charge of causing hurt on Peer Mohamed Abdul Majid, 54.

The offence was committed at an office at Jalan Bangsar Utama 3, Bangsar at 4.15pm last Feb 28.

The charge carries an imprisonment for up to a year, or fine of up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.

DPP Nur Farah Adilah Noordin prosecuted, while Hafizi was unrepresented.

According to the facts of the case, Hafizi, who was then a part-time employee, punched Peer Mohamed because he was not satisfied with the salary paid to him.
