Police last night detained a man believed to have made an offensive posting in Facebook against Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
Johor police chief Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said the 58-year-old man was nabbed at a restaurant near Dataran Perpaduan Bercham Raya, Ulu Kinta in Ipoh, Perak about 11.30pm.
In a statement today, he said the posting allegedly made by the man could potentially undermine harmony and public order.
He said police also seized a sim card and a mobile phone from the suspect, who is being investigated under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
