Police are seeking a Rohingya couple suspected of involvement in the murder of a man from the same ethnic group, at Kampong Pak Madah, Bukit Payung, Marang on Saturday.

Terengganu CID chief ACP Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Hamzah said the main suspect, identified as Mohamad Qarim Abdul Razak, 30, and his wife, Babe Nur Karim, 25, disappeared immediately after the incident.

Police are also tracking down the man's two siblings whose identities had not been ascertained.

"We believe the main suspect, who is also known as Qori is the main culprit in this murder case.

"Qori and his two siblings are believed to have fled together with his wife and two children aged 13 years and four months immediately after the victim was killed," he said in a statement in Kuala Terengganu today.

The deceased, a UNHCR card holder aged 35, was found with several stab wounds to the chest and back as well as head injuries by a neighbour who went to the scene to check on the commotion which sounded like a quarrel.

Wan Abd Aziz urged the public to contact the nearest police station if they have information on the suspects or had spotted them.
