The Malaysian High Commission in London said there are no reports of any Malaysians injured in the explosions which rocked the British capital today.

"So far we have received no calls of Malaysians being involved in any of these explosions," said the commission's press officer when contacted 90 minutes after the attacks.

The officer, who declined to be named, advised Malaysians in London to stay home and not go out onto the streets unless absolutely necessary.

According to him, there are 10,000-12,000 Malaysians who reside in London, of whom, 4,000-5,000 are students.

The Islamic Human Rights Commission warned London Muslims to stay at home to avoid any violence aimed at them.

A series of seven explosions occurred in London's underground rail and ripped several buses apart during rush hour this morning.

At least six train stations in central London and three double-decker buses were hit.

Eyewitnesses reported chilling accounts of bodies strewn all over and police said that at least 38 were killed.

Other reports said that the death toll may be as high as 45, and 1,000 injured, with fatalities likely to rise.

The British Transport police had initially claimed that the explosions were caused by a power surge but Prime Minister Tony Blair later said it was a terrorist attack.
