Former Kelantan exco member Husam Musa is now the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) vice-president and has been tasked with leading the party's electoral effort in Kelantan.

Amanah secretary-general Mohd Anuar Tahir said Husam comes with years of experience in governing Kelantan and was once a student for former menteri besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

"It took some time (to convince Husam). He is a humble person and a student of the tok guru (Nik Abdul Aziz)," said Mohd Anuar.

Mohd Anuar spoke to reporters in Kuala Lumpur after a forum on Nik Abdul Aziz's thoughts in Kuala Lumpur today.

Mohd Anuar also confirmed that Husam has been tasked with leading Amanah's charge in Kelantan during the next general election.

"Yes definitely. At the same time we don't want him to be state level but also national level," he said.

Apart from that, Husam will be in charge of party election roadmap and be part of the party's management bureau.

Husam is the current state assemblyperson for Salor. He was formerly the MP for Kubang Kerian and state assemblyperson for Kijang.

He was sacked by PAS last May after the party's disciplinary committee ruled that he had violated the party's constitution. He joined Amanah three months later.
