Kelantan Amanah Youth's claim that PAS would lose the state in the next general election is but a dream, said the state PAS Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari.

"What they are thinking is just a dream that's not grounded in reality.

"They forget Umno is internally fractured, and PKR too is facing unrest," Ahmad Fadhli was reported in Sinar Harian yesterday as saying at an event in Kota Baru.

Ahmad Fadhli said Kelantan Amanah Youth chief Hazmi Hassan cannot take PAS' internal troubles as a yardstick.

He was responding to Hazmi's assessment of PAS' chances of retaining the state government, if the Islamist party does not join hands with Pakatan Harapan.

Hazmi was reported on Astro Awani yesterday as saying that Umno Kelantan would likely win back the state if PAS remained obstinate in rejecting cooperation with Harapan.

The top leadership of PAS has openly rejected cooperating with Harapan to face BN in the 14th general election, speculated to be held this year, as they see DAP and Amanah to be their enemies.

Ahmad Fadhli added that the rejection of Bersatu's invitation to join the Harapan Youth Kelantan convention was not out of pride or arrogance, Sinar Harian reported.

"We value their invitation, but we hope they respect the PAS central leadership's stand that we would not share the same stage with them, if DAP and Amanah are involved.

"If the convention did not involve DAP and Amanah, God willing, we would attend," he was reported as saying.

According to Sinar Harian, Bersatu Youth yesterday sent their PAS counterpart an invitation to the convention, saying space would be reserved for them.

The convention will be held this Saturday, at the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Kota Baru, and will feature Harapan leaders Muhyiddin Yassin, Husam Musa, Nurul Izzah Anwar, Zaid Ibrahim and Kamaruddin Mohd Noor.
