More businesses are shunning dog abuser Terry Yee, who own companies distributing various international outdoor gear and apparel brands.

US water bottle manufacturer Nalgene said they have pulled the plug on their deals with Tearproof Sdn Bhd.

"We were recently made aware of allegations regarding cruelty toward an animal involving one of our distributors in Singapore and Malaysia.

"The individual involved has admitted his actions and his company will no longer serve as a distributor of Nalgene products," a spokesperson said on Nalgene's Facebook page.

This was in reply to a large number of social media users, who were lobbying for companies to boycott Tearproof.

Meanwhile, UK apparel makers Craghoppers said they are unlikely to revive any business dealings with Yee.

"We have not dealt with Mr Yee since last year and will not be dealing with him in the future.

"We do not condone maltreatment of animals in any way and Mr Yee's behaviour does not represent the values and principles to which our brand adheres," a Craghoppers spokesperson said on Facebook.

Netizens going all out

Social media users are also lobbying for Indonesia outdoor bags manufacturer Kalibre to drop their business with Tearproof.

On Monday, it was reported that American adventure equipment firm Osprey Packs removed Tearproof as a distributor.

Yee was depicted in a viral video clip manhandling a dog after the dog attacked him.

The police as well as the Department of Veterinary Services are investigating the matter.

Over the weekend, a group of people held a protest in Puchong, demanding that the authorities take action against Tee.

Tee has since apologised for his actions.
