Indian Malaysian youth raise equality and ‘Bangsa M’sia’ to TN50

Unity, equality and the Bangsa Malaysia concept are among aspirations raised by the Indian Malaysian youth during the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) dialogue session which lasted about three hours tonight.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the dialogue session also received tremendous response with the most participants, to date.

"The dialogue session this evening was attended by over 800 participants and followed by more than 40,000 'viewers' (on Facebook). The response was tremendous.

"Among aspirations raised were questions on equality of opportunity, unity, the concept of a Bangsa Malaysia identity and sustainable development of the country," he told reporters after attending the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) Dialogue with the Indian Malaysian youth in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Also present were MIC president and Health Minister S Subramaniam and Youth and Sports Deputy Minister M Saravanan.

Meanwhile, Subramaniam said the dialogue provided an opportunity for the government to hear views from people on the ground and tonight, they expressed a desire for the government to make changes in the policies and methods currently used so that some weaknesses could be rectified in achieving TN50.
