Suspended Mara chairperson Annuar Musa is expected to give his statement before Mara's internal audit committee regarding allegations of abuse of power and misappropriation of funds related to the agency's sponsorship of the Kelantan football team.

Annuar, who is also Umno information chief, is expected to give his statement this morning, some three months after his suspension.

It was reported last week that its acting chairperson Yusof Yacob had said that the investigation carried out by the audit committee was now in its final stage and Annuar would be called to complete the investigation.

Annuar, who is also Ketereh MP, was suspended on Jan 31 as Mara and Pelaburan Mara Bhd chairperson following investigations on the sponsorship of the Kelantan's Red Warriors team.

In February, Annuar was also separately probed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Paul Low said the commission had since completed its investigations and the investigating papers are now with the public prosecutor.
