MUKTAMAR | PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said most people want their children to follow in their footsteps, but obtaining positions in the party was up to the members.

He denied ever proposing his son, Muhammad Khalil who is now the PAS Youth wing leader, for any positions.

"He was elected by the grassroots, regardless of whether there was a contest for the position or not," he said told a press conference after closing the 63rd PAS muktamar in Alor Setar, Kedah, today.

The Marang MP was responding to a question about a family dynasty was taking root in PAS, as he and his son now held key positions in the party.

The same allegations have been hurled at other parties such as Umno, DAP and PKR.

"I never proposed him as a candidate and I never asked him to contest any posts," Abdul Hadi stressed.

Abdul Hadi and Muhammad Khalil won their posts uncontested in this year's internal polls. Muhammad Khalil replaces Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz.
