Kelantan Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has been allocated RM34 million to carry out programmes to help entrepreneurs, totalling 2,278 people in the state, this year.

Rural and Regional Development Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the total allocation included RM32 million to be disbursed as financial loans, expected to benefit 360 entrepreneurs.

"The remaining RM2 million is in the form of training for entrepreneurs," he said at a dinner attended by Mara entrepreneurs in Kota Baru, Kelantan last night.

Ismail Sabri said Mara had outlined a systematic and holistic entrepreneur development program in an effort to produce competitive bumiputera entrepreneurs.

He advised entrepreneurs in Kelantan to explore new fields, like aerospace, marine and energy.

Also present were Kelantan Mara director Ismail Abdullah and Kelantan Mara Entrepreneurs Association chairperson Mohd Nazir Daut.
