The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V today made his maiden visit to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) base in Lumut yesterday evening.

His arrival at 5.30pm at the Parade Ground on board the KD Pelandok was received by Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, as well as top TLDM officials.

Upon arrival, His Majesty inspected a guard of honour comprising 106 RMN officers and men with Lieutenant Ahmad Fazwan Ramli bearing the colours of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong while Lieutenant Muhammad Ridzuan Amen carried the colours of the KD Malaya.

Later, the Agong attended a shooting session at the Abdul Samad Shooting Range.

Today, Sultan Muhammad V is scheduled to attend a briefing on the transformation and operation of RMN and the Special Operations Force (Paskal) project on board KD Lekiu in Lumut.

His Majesty will also witness a combat demonstration comprising Paskal, RMN Air Headquarters and air assets at Lumut Base Berthing (Tambatan) Basin.
