The Malaysian Embassy in Cairo has not received any reports of Malaysian casualties in yesterday's bombings at Sharm el-Sheikh, an Egyptian tourist resort on the Red Sea.
The Al-Jazeera television station Saturday quoted Egyptian Interior Minister Habib el-Adli as saying at least 59 people were reported to have been killed in the blasts.
According to Bernama, the embassy's second secretary (Administration and Counselling), Mohd Marzuki Mohd Amin confirmed today that there had been no reports of Malaysian casualties and added that they were closely monitoring the situation.
This is the second bombing incident at the resort after the first last October claimed 34 lives.
