PAS has criticised the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for stating that action will be taken against corrupt politicians after the next general election in order to prevent the arrests from becoming campaign fodder.

Without mincing words, the Islamist party's deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man described MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad's argument as silly.

"Secondly, the statement shows that the MACC does not act independently," he said.
