PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has advised against politicising the act of breaking fast.

"Breaking fast should not be politicised or be used for political purposes. The activity should instead be used as a platform to bring the races closer together and sow better understanding among religions," Tuan Ibrahim said in a Facebook posting today.

He also reminded PAS members and leaders to be more cautious about what they post on social media.

"(Whatever you write) must be in line with the mature and healthy politics approach that is the party's policy.

"Any writing that does not follow this policy is definitely not the party's stand and is only a personal opinion," he said.

This comes after Gombak PAS chief Salehhuddin Nasir denounced DAP leaders for attending break fast events.

In a scathing Facebook posting, Salehhuddin had said: "I am disgusted at the sight of DAP leaders breaking fast with Muslims. What a nuisance, when at other times they hold alcohol parties and masturbation fests. Bas***ds.

"For Muslims, Allah has stated (in the Quran, verse 6 of the Kafirun chapter) 'for you is your religion, and for me is my religion'.

"Sorry, I don't need sufist views here. DAP is the enemy of Islam. Parti Amanah Negara and PKR are DAP lackeys," he said.

Tuan Ibrahim, however, said that PAS, as missionaries, must be able to connect with non-Muslims to spread understanding on Islam, even if they do not accept Islam as their religion.

"PAS welcomes good relationships with non-Muslims in this country," he said.
