A worker of a 7-Eleven outlet who preyed on other 7-Eleven outlets will have the next 12 years in prison to think about the error of his ways.

He will also be getting four strokes of the rotan.

Ampang Sessions Court judge Syafeera Mohd Said meted out the punishment to Meor Amirun Meor Zainal Abidin, 22, after the accused pleaded guilty to robbing two fellow outlets, three weeks ago.

The first offence took place at Tasek Permai Ampang on May 13, where he escaped with cash and cigarettes worth RM813.

The second time was on May 18 in Taman Seraya, Pandan Indah, where he robbed a similar loot worth RM738.90.

The court sentenced him to six years jail and two strokes of the rotan for each offence, which will run consecutively from the date of his arrest on May 19.

Deputy public prosecutor Goh Ai Rene appeared for the prosecution while the accused was unrepresented.
