Cop believed Balamurugan's trembling due to 'alcohol addiction'

The Shah Alam police centralised lock-up sentry supervisor said he saw custodial death victim S Balamurugan trembling badly when he received the detainees at the lockup.

Cpl Muszanizam Mustaffa said he was told by Balamurugan's "case mate" that the trembling man had an "alcohol addiction" (ketagihan arak), and that he believed the man because he could smell alcohol.

However, Bar Council's R Sivaraj pointed out that the two men arrested with Balamurugan, K Tamilasan and a juvenile with the surname Ang, could not speak Malay...
