PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said his party will hold more dialogue sessions with "liberals" who have often criticised his party.

However, Tuan Ibrahim insisted that as Muslims, there are certain principles that cannot be compromised.

"We can be tolerant about things that do not go against our principles.

"But on issues such as LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender), these are clearly against Islam.

"So we cannot defend immoral values. No one considers LGBT as something that is moral," he told journalists during a PAS breaking of fast event with the media in Kuala Lumpur this evening.

Tuan Ibrahim acknowledged that there were freedoms, but said these should not violate principles.

"Malaysia needs to be firm on principles because if principles are broken, the country will be ruined," he said.

He added that the "liberal" community had its own network, claiming that they were backed by foreign elements.
