Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali today announced an Aidilfitri special allowance of two months' salary for state civil servants payable on June 21.

He said the allowance for the 17,703 civil servants would involve a total sum of RM63.3 million.

"This is a token of appreciation to the civil servants for their commitment and dedication to helping to develop Selangor.

"It is also based on the current financial performance," he said when addressing a Ramadan gathering of civil servants in Shah Alam.

Azmin also said that the Selangor government proposed to give another financial incentive to the civil servants at the end of the year, but it would depend on the performance of the staff and departments.
