PKR is not marginalised in Penang and state Gerakan should mind its own business.

This is DAP lawmaker Ng Wei Aik's response to allegations by Gerakan vice-chairperson Oh Tong Keong that PKR was marginalised in Penang, who cited the "freezing" of allocations of three PKR assemblypersons in the state, namely Norlela Ariffin (Penanti), Cheah Kah Peng (Kebun Bunga) and Lee Khai Loon (Machang Bubok), in making the claim.

"They (Gerakan) thought they can save PKR, but instead, I want to tell them to save themselves before saving others.

"While they are at it, they should also try to save MCA. If they cannot put their house in order, don't try to save others," the Tanjong MP told reporters today.

He said this outside the state Gerakan headquarters, where the party leaders were holding a protest to ask the DAP-led state government to explain the whereabouts of an RM70,000 allocation for the Chinese New Year celebrations.

State Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has explained that the allocations for the three assemblypersons were not "frozen", but just "delayed" until they explain how the funds are utilised.

The move was a "penalty" for the three assemblypersons from PKR, who were among those who failed to turn up at the Penang Governor's installation last April.

Several Gerakan leaders tried to stop Ng from holding a press conference outside their party's premises but Ng refused to budge and dared them to call the police if they felt his presence was an issue.

Ng noted that the state assembly speaker, Law Choo Kiang and his deputy, Maktar Shapee, were both from PKR.

"We are equal partners in the Pakatan Harapan coalition, unlike MCA and Gerakan in BN, who kowtow to Umno, they have to succumb the Umno from time to time, in every aspect, every issue, they cannot speak out against Umno leaders.

"Can they (Gerakan) speak out against the 1MDB scandal? Never, they will not speak about the 1MDB or corruption, they are headless, senseless, gutless, and shameless party, we don't know where is their head (state BN chairperson Teng Chang Yeow), he is not in a commanding position," Ng said.

Ng also claimed that Gerakan did not treat MCA as an equal partner when the party led the Penang government prior to 2008.

He said that MCA leaders were "suppressed" in Penang, while Gerakan continued to "bodek" Umno.
