Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia's intervention to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Bank Negara estimated today's liquidity at RM31.768 billion in the conventional system and RM12.197 billion in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct three conventional money market tenders, valued at RM1.5 billion, for seven days and RM500 million each for 14 days and 32 days, respectively.

It will also conduct one Islamic range maturity auction Qard tender, valued at RM4 billion, for 7-21 days and a reverse repo tender worth RM170 million for 32 days.

At 4 pm, Bank Negara will conduct up to RM29.4 billion in conventional overnight tenders and a RM8.2 billion overnight Qard tender.
