As the haze condition in the country worsens, a concerned Malaysian has set up a blog to collect photos for a pictorial petition to the people of Indonesia.

Dubbed ' Haze Haters in Kuala Lumpur ', the blog which was set-up yesterday is calling on Malaysians to send in photos on the situation.

"This is to send a message to our Indonesian friends, to let them know what is really going on and how we feel.

"Perhaps the governments would be more inclined to act if they hear our voices, and not just figures and statistic," said the blogger, who requested anonymity, when contacted.

She said that she was enraged by the situation and hence decided to start-up the blog.

"The last straw was when I saw a little girl covering- up her whole face at a bus stop to wait for her mother, this is too much," she added.

Legal action

According to the blogger, she has come across many frustrated people who are even mulling legal action against the Indonesian government.

"There are a lot of curse words but why don't we just show our feelings to Indonesia?

"We don't want to desensitise and bore our Indonesian friends, we want them to hear our voices," she said.

On getting the message across, the blogger said she will e-mail the photos to as many Indonesian friends as possible, terming it as a 'people-to-people' approach.

Although receiving many photos, she said the blog needed more personal information such as names in order to make the message stronger.

The haze is being blamed on peat fires outside Kuala Lumpur, as well as hundreds of blazes in Indonesia's Riau and North Sumatra provinces.

As of 11am today, Kuala Selangor and Port Klang's Air Pollution Index (API) surpassed 500, which could lead to the declaration of emergency in the two areas.
