Dr Mahathir Mohamad believed that his administration had built the foundations used by the Najib-administration to improve public transportation.

"He was just continuing what I started. If I didn't start he wouldn't know what to do," Mahathir told reporters when met in Kuala Lumpur today.

Najib has been parading his achievements with public transportation since the Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) MRT line was opened in its entirety last week.

The prime minister had taken a veiled swipe at Mahathir during the launch, saying the SBK line was completed ahead of schedule because the contract was not given to cronies.
