A seven-year-old boy has been accused of raping a six-year-old girl in Malacca.

The girl's mother lodged a police report on July 20, the day after her daughter complained of pain in her vagina, Malacca criminal investigations department chief Kamaluddin Kassim said.

The girl said the pain was caused by the boy's "pipit" - the Bahasa Malaysia word for "sparrow" widely used as a euphemism for penis.

The mother examined the girl and found red marks on her daughter's vagina, mStar reported.

The incident allegedly happened at her babysitter's house.

The girl said the boy, who is the babysitter's son, also inserted his finger into her vagina when no adult was around.

Kamaluddin said investigating officers have been instructed to take extra care as both the suspect and victim are young children.

The police used dolls to help the children explain what happened when their statements were taken, he said.

Police have also called up the boy's parents' in the investigation under the Sexual Crimes Against Children Act 2017.

"We have almost completed our investigation," Kamaluddin told mStar yesterday.

The girl was also reportedly examined by the Malacca Hospital on the day the report was lodged and it was found there was her hymen was torn.
