Penang has postponed the signing of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) Anti-Graft Pledge to next week. 

This is because MACC Chief Commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad is not available tomorrow, where the signing event was originally scheduled to take place, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng told reporters today. 

According to Lim, he was informed of the postponement by state MACC chief Abdul Aziz Aban. 

"My political-secretary Wong Hon Wai was informed that Dzulkifli will be away.

"However, Dzulkifli has expressed his willingness to come and witness the signing of the pledge," said the DAP secretary-general.

Lim and Dzulkifli had earlier traded barbs, as the latter alleged that Penang has yet to commit to signing the pledge, while all other states had done so, or at least have expressed willingness to do so. 

To this, Lim responded that the commission had not extended an invitation to Penang to do so, and also listed 10 of its own criteria, to be included in the pledge if the state were to sign it. 

Lim said today that he was committed to seeing the signing ceremony happen next week, with Dzulkifli in attendance. 

"We will hold it next week so that all our MPs and state assemblypersons can be present.

"However, we are disappointed that the matter has been exploited and manipulated by certain BN media, that is uncalled for," he said.
