Jeanne throws 'tree challenge' to lawmakers

Jeanne Abdullah, the wife of former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, has challenged every lawmaker to plant a tree in Parliament so it will turn into a popular tourism site.

Jean who is the chairperson of Landscape Malaysia envisages such an effort would create a Parliament in the forest ambiance in 20 years.

She urged the MPs to lead by example in their effort to make the country green again.

"We all know that there will be a Taman Tugu (nearby), so I challenge Parliament to get every member of parliament to plant one tree," she said...
